The trials and tribulations of Essex Artists

So as you may have seen from our previous blog post, we have been making and selling some gorgeous bespoke resin coasters, Christmas decorations and boho wall hangings. All was going so well until Nicky's face swelled up around Halloween! We thought she had an allergic reaction to some face products but after 2 weeks of medication her skin joined in the fun. We had to assume that it was the resin. They were not meant to be together.

We are creative, intelligent women with a vision, we want to continue making beautiful creations so Nicky and I checked out what he had lying around in the studio and discovered that as well as a serious craft and paper collection, she also has a healthy collection of clay!

Air-drying, polymer clay, stoneware, porcelain, paper clay ... and a potters wheel and a kiln! It has been a dream of hers for years to have her own clay studio so it seemed the universe was telling us that now is the time.

I have taken all the resin to my own home studio and we work together to create and market the resin art pieces - Nicky very remotely. Thankfully she is on the mend and we are now working on ideas to work with the clay to create things that you can not buy from mass manufacturers, something special, made with love.
